These last two are frankly way overkill for this set in this venue. It is really not needed to mic everything I have here, though the mic for the hi-hat could have been added earlier if you wanted. Again, personal choice makes a difference in these higher number microphone packages. This package was 1 Kick-in, 1 Snare-top, 1 Snare-bottom, 1 Rack Tom, 1 Floor Tom, 1 Ride, 1 Hi-Hat, 2 Overheads.

Though I could have been convinced to change a few of these to different packages (see number 7 for an example) if a particular musician or musical style wanted a different tone while still using a 4-piece kit, I think that it is pretty obvious that after 7 microphones you are getting to complete over-kill in this venue.
